TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The construction of the Formula E circuit that is currently constructed at Jakarta’s Ancol area has reportedly been 80 percent completed ahead of the racing schedule slated for June 4, 2022.
This was announced by Jakarta deputy governor Ahmad Riza Patria who also said the track resurfacing had been completed.
“The asphalt of the 2.4 kilometer track has been paved and the next step is to plant the grasses along the track,” said the deputy governor on March 22, Antaranews reported.
State-developer Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) previously announced that the construction will meet the deadline and be completed before the end of this month.
According to Ari Wibowo from the Jaya Konstruksi Manggala Pratama, who is in charge for the Formula E construction development, the total cost to build the track reaches Rp60 billion and meets the 54-day deadline as stated by the contract.
"40 percent of the construction was concentrated in the [challenging] fifth zone. Work in this zone is the most difficult and most energy-consuming," he said as the track’s fifth zone rests above soft ground.
