Sarinah Mall Reopens after Major Revamp

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Sarinah department store on Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta resumes operations starting today, March 21, after it was temporary closed in 2020 for renovations.
As quoted from Antara on Monday, several outlets on the ground floor have reopened, including a batik clothing store and a number of restaurants. There is also a photo exhibition of the city’s first shopping mall equipped with its construction timeline from it was first built until its current new looks.
On the first floor, visitors are welcomed by its typical stores on the left side of the escalator, cake shops, coffee shops, and restaurants offering Indonesian up to Japanese cuisines.
Salon, spa outlets, and more restaurants offering European cuisines occupy the second floor. Visitors are seemed to enjoy meals at a number of eateries.
The third floor, meanwhile, has outlets selling a variety of products starting from furniture, accessories, to souvenirs such as wayang or traditional shadow puppets, handicrafts made of rattan and bamboo, and wall decorations.
The top floor of the state-owned Sarinah remains closed. It has not been disclosed yet what the management of the shopping mall will offer on the fourth floor.
