Activist Haris Azhar: I 'Will Not Remain Quiet' in Defamation Case Against Luhut

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Metro Jaya Police has officially named Lokataru Director Haris Azhar and KontraS coordinator Fatia Maulidiyanti as suspects in a defamation case against Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investments Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
Consistent with his previous responses to the police investigation, Azhar insisted that he will not remain idle in the process.
“I personally want to say that I will not remain quiet in this case. I will be very provocative, not just to defend my case but I will take measures to be provocative,” said the director of the human rights foundation in a virtual press conference on Sunday, March 20.
Not only has he announced his stand in this case, Azhar plans to file a report in return against Minister Luhut Pandjaitan in what he believes is his bid to uphold justice.
“I will commit to extensive efforts that are legal and approved by my biological mother,” he added.
In his official statement, Haris Azhar asserts that he will be present in the police investigation against him under the suspect status scheduled to take place on Monday, March 21, but will use his rights to remain proactive in defending his rights.
