Jakarta Deemed Trustworthy as FEO Offers 4 Events Post Formula E: Deputy Gov

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Formula E organizing committee FEO reportedly offered four international events to be held in Jakarta other than Jakarta International E-Prix. Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said the provincial government would be grateful if the capital is trusted to host international events.

“We’ll surely appreciate it, we’ll be grateful. This means world associations or organizations trust Indonesia, Jakarta,” said Riza before reporters in the City Hall, Monday, March 7.

Following up the offer, he explained, requires a long stage and considerations related to many matters. “The stages are similar to that of Formula E. They are not short, but a very long one,” he added.

However, he expressed optimism that Jakarta is a worthy location for other international-scale events.

City-owned developer Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) president director Widi Amanasto said FEO proposed four possible events to be held in Indonesia’s capital after the electric motor racing event is finished.

“FEO is not only about Formula E. They also want to bring four more international events here,” said Widi at the Formula E site, Ancol, North Jakarta, Sunday, March 6. Widi, however, stopped short of detailing the four events. Also, Jakpro has not yet approved the offer.

As widely reported, Jakarta is slated to host the 2022 Formula E in Ancol of North Jakarta on June 4, 2022.
