TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir in an event held virtually on Tuesday asserted that the Ministry aims to make Indonesia a green energy producer. He wishes Indonesia to grow from becoming a consumer-based market for this type of energy.
“The SOEs Ministry also wants to ensure that Indonesia is not only a green energy consumer but also a green power energy producer,” said Thohir at the second anniversary of the Indonesia Cyber Media Network on February 8, Antaranews reported.
Moreover, the minister said the principle of SOEs decarbonization program aims to support the reduction of national greenhouse gasses which includes the Reduce-Emission-Initiatives Program, the Build adjacent business-Initiatives Program, and the Explore "step-out" opportunities-Initiatives Program.
He insists that these are what is called being independent and sovereign over a country's energy and natural resources.
"That's what we call an opportunity that must be maximized and I continue to encourage all SOEs to have a measurable road map towards zero-emission by 2060 to reach a future where we use 100 percent environmentally friendly energy," said Erick Thohir.
