TEMPO.CO, Cibinong - Bogor Resort Police were determined to hold a large-scale patrol following the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the regency.
“The large-scale patrol of Indonesian Military (TNI)-Police will involve joint personnel from Bogor Police, Military Command 0621, Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), and Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD),” said Bogor Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Iman Imanuddin in Cibinong, Sunday, Jan. 30.
Other than preventing crowds that possibly increase the potential for coronavirus transmission, the patrol also aimed at preventing street crime or robberies at night.
“We emphasize to members of this large-scale patrol to always prioritize a humane attitude to the community,” Iman remarked.
Iman hoped that the large-scale patrol could encourage the awareness of Bogor people to comply with the health protocols and avoid crowds.
On Friday, Jan. 28, the Bogor Regency COVID-19 Task Force detected 339 new infections. The number of daily cases in the regency has jumped significantly since January 18-19, 2022, to more than 40 cases from previously 2-11 cases.
