Other than preventing crowds that possibly increase the potential for coronavirus transmission, the patrol also aimed at preventing street crime or robberies at night.

“We emphasize to members of this large-scale patrol to always prioritize a humane attitude to the community,” Iman remarked.

Iman hoped that the large-scale patrol could encourage the awareness of Bogor people to comply with the health protocols and avoid crowds.

On Friday, Jan. 28, the Bogor Regency COVID-19 Task Force detected 339 new infections. The number of daily cases in the regency has jumped significantly since January 18-19, 2022, to more than 40 cases from previously 2-11 cases.
