Disgraced Doctor Sentenced to 6 Months in Jail Over Sexual Harassment

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Semarang District Court sentenced a doctor named Dody Prasetyo on Wednesday to six months imprisonment for committing sexual harassment. The defendant put his sperm onto a dish served to his friend’s wife.

The District Court judge Gatot Sarwadi found the disgraced doctor had violated Article 281 of the criminal code (KUHP), Bisnis.com reported.

The damning piece of evidence revealed in court was the video recording that shows the defendant masturbating and then putting his sperm onto the victim’s dish.

The public prosecutor at the Central Java High Court also charged the doctor with 6 months imprisonment. Both defendant and prosecutors have not decided on a follow-up to either accept or file an appeal following the verdict.

The victim’s legal advisor from Legal Resource Center for Gender and Human Rights Justice (LRC KJHAM) Nia Lishayanti lauded the verdict.

“The court verdict is underwhelming if we view it from the impact that the victim suffered through. However, we truly appreciate the judge’s decision,” said Lishayanti.
