TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Finance Ministry director-general of budgeting Isa Rachmatarwata in a hearing with the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission XI on Tuesday said the budget realization in the health sector reached Rp291.4 trillion in 2021, which is a 69.2 percent increase compared to the previous year.
“This is an increase compared to 2020 that was also responding to Covid-19. At the time, the budget was Rp172.3 trillion,” said Isa on January 24. “The increase is 69.2 percent compared to 2020.”
Citing Antaranews, most of this was contributed by the spending of State Ministries or agencies - classified as K/L - that amounted to Rp212.48 trillion, the spending from non-government institutions of Rp12.41 trillion, and the transferred funds for village funds (TKDD) of Rp66.49 trillion.
The health sector budget realization growth in 2021 was driven by health spending from K/L and TKDD that each amounted to 74.6 percent and 79.2 percent compared to the previous year. The government has also spent Rp44.9 trillion for 94 million national health insurance policyholders.
“Central government continues to incentivize 1.5 million health workers which amount to Rp10.3 trillion and 646,500 healthcare workers in regional levels that amount to Rp6.8 trillion,” she said.
