Jokowi Meets Singapore PM Lee Hsien Loong in Bintan

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is having a meeting with the Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong today Tuesday, January 25, at The Sanchaya Resort Bintan in Bintan, Riau Islands. In addition to the tête-à-tête, Jokowi and Lee will co-lead a bilateral meeting between the delegations of the two countries and witness the signing and exchange of a number of memorandums of understanding.
A statement from the Presidential Secretariat's Press Bureau said that prior to the meeting Jokowi did some exercise with a number of ministers. At around 06:40 Jakarta time, the President started walking around the resort area with Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and Riau Islands Governor Ansar Ahmad.
At noon, Jokowi will monitor the Covid-19 vaccination at the Community Center Building of Kota Baru in Bintan's Teluk Sebong District. The venue is serving booster vaccines for the elderly and the second primary doses for children.
Jokowi will then head to the Bintan Alumina Indonesia area at the Galang Batang Special Economic Zone (SEZ) to launch this year's first shipment of smelting grade alumina.
In the afternoon, the president is scheduled to distribute cash assistances to street vendors at Taman Batu 10 Bintan Market Center, Tanjung Pinang City. After that, the president will head to the Raja Haji Fisabilillah Airport and return to Jakarta.
