1,745 New Covid Cases in Indonesia Today; 9 Dead

    TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia continues to see increasing numbers of Covid-19 infections this year. On Wednesday, January 19, authorities reported 1.745 new cases recorded over the last 24 hours.

    Today's cases bring Indonesia's covid tally up to more than 4.27 million since the virus was first detected in the country in early March 2020.  

    Authorities also reported that nine more people have died from the Coronavirus disease. The country's Covid-related deaths have now reached 144,192 cases.

    Meanwhile, only 504 new recoveries were recorded today, less than 30 percent of the new cases reported.

    To date, Indonesia has logged a total of 4,120,540 Covid recoveries.
