Travel Quarantine Reduced to 10 Days, Says Covid-19 Task Force

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government is set to continue evaluating the effectiveness of the coronavirus prevention measures as the Covid-19 Task Force has yet again changed the quarantine length for international travelers from 14 days to 10 days.
“The change in quarantine period is a result of an evaluation of the previous policy,” said Covid-19 task force chairperson Lieutenant Gen. Suharyanto in a statement on January 17.
Suharyanto explained that the results of the evaluation are discussed in weekly meetings which gave birth to new policies. This is caused by several factors, one of which is the threat characteristics of the virus itself which is also changing.
"We also evaluate this Omicron continuously so that its policies change according to the changing characteristics of the threat," he said.
The reduction of quarantine time for international travelers who arrive in Indonesia is officially mentioned under the Task Force’s Circular No.3/2022 that was formulated alongside health experts. He calls for members of the public to adhere to the new regulation and prevent a further spread of Covid-19.
