TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Police recently arrested a drug dealer in Serdang Wetan, Legok, Tangerang on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. The suspect attempted to escape in a car but was successfully arrested after crashing into several cars.

"The suspects attempted to run until his car lost control and crashed into civilians' motorcycles and buildings," said the Chief of Public Relation of West Jakarta Resort Police Commander Mochamad Taufik Iksan, as quoted by Antara on Thursday, January 13, 2022.

The chase was recorded in a 59-seconds viral video. The video showed the suspect's car being crowded by civilians as they were screaming and trying to harm the suspect. Officers on site then immediately secured the suspect and brought him to be arrested.

According to Taufik, the suspect has been monitored for quite some time for drug distributions. The arrest was a follow-up to an investigation of a previous case handled by West Jakarta Resort Police.
