TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A member of the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives Israyani, asserted that the Jakarta government must consider stopping on-site learning completely following recent cases of Covid-19 infection found on students and teachers.
"It needs to be considered is it necessary to suspend on-site learning completely and replace it with blended learning or back to remote learning, until conditions are conducive," Israyani said in a written statement on Friday, January 14, 2022.
Israyani reminded the Jakarta Health Agency and Education Agency to exercise continuous supervision on the on-site learning activities. She said that there has to be cooperation between schools, parents, and Jakarta government.
"[Supervision] is needed to avoid further infection and so that active cases don't continue to grow," Israyani said.
Israyani further encouraged the public to continue to exercise Covid-19 health protocols.
Previously, on-site learning activities at school has resumed on January 3, 2021, with 100 percent capacity. However, the duration for each subject is limited to 35 minutes with a maximum of six subjects per day.
