TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Provincial government continues the full on-site learning at schools, known as face-to-face learning (PTM), amid the increasing trend of Covid-19 cases and the Omicron variant.

Despite the current situation, Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria said the city is still able to host face-to-face learning based on the indicators. It will not stop only because there are a few cases in schools, he asserted.

"To date, there is no urgency to close the school as we are still observing to ensure everything is running accordingly," said the governor at the City Hall, as quoted by Antara on Thursday, January 13.

Until Thursday, the provincial government has temporarily stopped PTM in 10 schools for 5 days and if additional cases are found, the activities will be stopped for 15 days.

Based on data from Jakarta Health Department, the 10 schools are located in East Jakarta (6), South Jakarta (3), and Central Jakarta (1).
