TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian men's double pairs, Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan, will return to the field to snatch the semifinals ticket in the international badminton tournament, India Open 2022, on Friday, January 14.

Today, Hendra/Ahsan will face Norwegian athletes, Torjus Flaatten/Vegard Rikheim. The Indonesian pairs, known as The Daddies, are expected to win.

Hendra/Ahsan are currently in second place in the world's ranking. Meanwhile, the opponents only sit at the 82nd world rank. This competition will be the first meeting for both pairs.

Previously, The Daddies advanced to the quarter-final after beating India's pairs, Bhaskar Chakraboty/Kapil Chaudary, at 21-17, 21-9. Meanwhile, Torjus Flaatten/Vegard Rikheim defeated Vasantha Kumar/Ashith Surya, at 21-17, 6-21, 21-18.

Hendra/Ahsan are the only representatives of Indonesia after men's single-player Tommy Sugiarto was defeated in the first round.

The India Open series will begin at 14:30 western Indonesia time. Hendra / Ahsan versus Flaatten/Rikheim will appear on the third match this afternoon.
