Indonesia Logs 793 Fresh Covid-19 Cases; 60% from Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Covid-19 Task Force as of Thursday, January 13, 2022, recorded 793 new infections over the last 24 hours. Tuesday's record brings the nation's total caseload to 4,268,890 so far.

Jakarta accounted for more than 60 percent of today's fresh cases with 478 infections, followed by West Java with 89, Banten 54, Bali 26, East Java 23, and Riau Islands 20.

The Health Ministry's data showed that the fresh cases were obtained from the results of examining 278,266 specimens.

Authorities also recorded 385 new recoveries over the last day, bringing the number of Indonesia's Covid survivors to more than 4.11 million people. 

The number of Covid-related deaths recorded increased by five. To date, 144.155 Indonesians have lost their lives to Covid-19.
