802 New Covid-19 Infections; Indonesia's Cases Nearly Doubled in One Day

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Covid-19 Task Force released the latest data on daily Covid-19 cases as of Tuesday, 11 January. Over the last 24 hours, 802 more cases were logged as of noon today, almost twice yesterday's figure.
With today's numbers included, Indonesia has a total caseload of 4,267,451.
According to the Health Ministry, today's number of cases was obtained from the results of examining 288,467 specimens.
Jakarta reported the most cases in one day with 537 infections, followed by Riau Islands with 66, West Java 62, Banten 43, East Java 29, and Central Java with 11 cases.
Over the last 24 hours, the number of recoveries increased by 446 cases to bring the number up to 4,116,648.
Today's eight more deaths were also announced, raising the number of Covid-19 casualties to 144,144.
On Monday, January 10, Indonesia logged 454 cases and seven deaths in the last 24 hours.
