TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Director of national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia Irfan Setiaputra confirmed his support for the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises that planned to report old cases in the company to the Attorney General's Office. The reports will be submitted directly by SOE Minister Erick Thohir on Tuesday, Jan. 11.
Irfan said the airline company would provide data needed by the ministry. “We’ll just follow it,” said Irfan when contacted on Tuesday via short message.
He underlined that the company would carry out all the ongoing legal processes. On the other hand, the company would continue to focus on the ongoing restructuring process.
Previously reported, former commissioner of Garuda Peter Gontha urged the SOE Ministry to dismantle past cases of alleged corruption in the company related to aircraft leasing. He admitted that he had reported the plane rental conspiracy that occurred during the previous era to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
Via his Instagram account some time ago, Peter said that four foreign companies had confessed about the under-the-table agreement with Garuda Indonesia. Without naming the companies, Peter said some of them had already paid the fine.
