TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Culture Agency Head Iwan Henry Wardhana said 14 buildings in the capital had been named cultural heritage sites in 2021, including the Rawamangun golf course, East Jakarta.
Iwan said the naming had gone through studies verified by the agency’s cultural conservation expert team.
“This is also part of our efforts to preserve cultural assets owned by the Jakarta provincial government,” said Iwan Henry Wardhana as quoted from the city’s press release, Friday, January 7.
The buildings deserved to be named heritage sites as they met the criteria, viz. ages 50 years or more; having meanings to history, science, education, religion, and/or culture; and having cultural values that strengthen the nation's character.
The 14 new cultural heritage sites are:
1. Rawamangun Golf Course
2. Bank Indonesia HQ in Kebon Sirih
3. Garuda Indonesia Head Office Building in Kebon Sirih
4. Tjipta Niaga Building
5. Proclamation of Independence Monument
6. House of the Proclamation
7. Proclamation Monument
8. Independence Pioneer Building
9. Gudang AmunisiPetukangan building
10. Vincentius Putri Building Complex
11. Building 1, Building 2, and Building 3 of the State Film Production Firm Complex
