TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Java High Prosecutor's Head, Asep N Mulyana, stated that the rape committed by HW against dozens of students in Bandung was a premeditated crime. According to Asep, the rape is suspected to be done in sequence with psychological threats.
"The expert said that it was done by design, not incidental. It's not an immediate action," he said after prosecuting the rape case at Bandung District Court in Thursday, December 30.
Asep explained that HW lured the victims by offering facilities, and gradually affect their minds. He considers it is an extraordinary crime, as it is not not only affecting the victims but also creating public unrest.
This has caused psychological disorder, thus the victims - and even HW's wife - were afraid to report the criminal's act. "It's the function of the brain that is damaged, not the brain's condition," Asep added.
HW was sentenced for raping 13 students in the period between 2016 to 2021. His crime was carried out at various places such as the Islamic boarding school where he worked and hotels. The victims even got pregnant and gave birth due to his heinous act.
