TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta-owned bus operator PT Transjakarta decided to adjust its bus services at the end of the year and early 2022 in order to mobilize the people wishing to travel to tourist attractions for the new year's celebrations.
“Transjakarta adjusts its service hours on New Year's Eve, Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, and new year's day, Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022,” said Angelina Betris, the company’s head of the corporate secretary and public relations division, in a statement, Friday.
The adjustments of the bus operating hours are as follows:
- All Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Line 1-13 operate from 5 a.m. until 12 a.m.
- Non-BRT and Microtrans routes operate from 5 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Both of the bus services will return to normal operation on Sunday, January 2, 2022. To anticipate the increase in the number of passengers, Transjakarta added the fleet by 10 percent of the number operating on weekdays.
Previously reported, Jakarta Police Traffic Director Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said his side would restrict people’s mobility on New Year's Eve 2022. Cafes, bars, restaurants, and hotels are only allowed to operate until 10 p.m. on Dec. 31 until Jan. 1-2, 2022.
