Jakarta Police Allow Gatherings for 2020 AFF Cup Final under Health Protocols

28 December 2021 09:07 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta Metro Police spokesman Commissioner Endra Zulpan stated that people are allowed to hold a gathering to watch the 2020 AFF Cup Final between Indonesia and Thailand so long under the COVID-19 health protocols.

“There is a rule on nobar (a gathering to watch together), which is at 50 percent capacity. For example, in a cafe, it must be limited to 50 percent of the maximum capacity,” said Endra, Monday, December 27, as quoted from Antara.

Other than the limited capacity of visitors, cafe managers who hold such a gathering must ensure that their customers use the PeduliLindungi COVID-19 app. “The second rule, PeduliLindungi is applied in the area,” he added.

Indonesia and Thailand are set to face each other in the 2020 AFF Cup Final after Thailand defeated Vietnam with a 2-0 aggregate score. The Indonesian national team advanced to the final round after beating Singapore with a 5-3 aggregate score.

Indonesia and Thailand had several times met in the final match of the AFF Cup, viz. in 2000, 2002, and 2016. However, Thailand had always defeated Indonesia and won the champion title.

The 2020 AFF Cup Final will take place over two legs in Singapore. The first leg will take place on December 29, 2021, and the second leg will be on January 1, 2022.
