Jakarta Cathedral Caps Christmas Mass Attendance at 650

24 December 2021 17:12 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Cathedral announced it will limit the number of in-person attendance to 650 congregates for the upcoming Christmas Mass tonight and on Saturday, December 25. This equates to 40 percent of the total capacity of the Catholic Church.

Cathedral’s spokesperson Susyana Suwadie said congregates who are able to participate in the offline Mass are those listed as members of the Cathedral parish. Congregates must also be registered in the belarasa.id website to obtain a QR code which will be used to enter the locations.

“The QR code, ID card, and then the PeduliLindungi app will be scanned,” she said. As of December, the Christmas capacity is 40 percent from what was initially set at 20 percent enacted in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Suwadie on December 24, Antaranews reported.

Moreover, she said the in-person masses will be separated into three locations within the Church. Congregates are also urged to comply with health protocols and wear their masks at all times.

Christmas Mass will be held on December 24-25 with the following schedules:

December 24:

    1. 16:00 WIB (online)

  1. 17:30 WIB (in-person and online)
