TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) faction at the Jakarta Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) questioned the determination of the Formula E circuit that was without the approval of the council members. The party member Anggara Wicitra Sastroamidjojo reminded that the event used Regional Budget (APBD).
“The plan of Formula E is again out of order. It is funded by APBD but they make decisions as they wish. This is people’s money, not Pak Sahroni's money,” said Anggara in a written statement, Wednesday, December 22.
He mentioned Ahmad Sahroni who is the organizing committee head of Formula E. The latter is also the Secretary-General of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) and a member of the DPRD from the NasDem faction.
Yesterday, the circuit for Formula E was decided to be in Ancol. The 2.4-kilometer long and 12-meter wide track will feature 18 corners. Its design resembles a hobby horse or locally known as kuda lumping.
The PSI politician argued that decisions regarding Formula E should be transparent and accountable given the use of APBD totaling Rp560 billion for the commitment fee. Anggara also asked the Jakarta administration not to claim that Formula E was held without public money.
