Densus 88 Arrests Terrorist Suspect in Central Kalimantan

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Police's special counterterrorism squad, Densus 88, arrested one suspected terrorist in Central Kalimantan on Tuesday night, December 21. The man is suspected to be a member of the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) terror network.
Densus 88 head of Operations Assistance Division, Sr. Comr. Aswin Siregar, confirmed the arrest. Aswin said that the suspect, with the initials MS, was arrested last night in a hotel at Bubut Street, Kota Palangkaraya.
"He was arrested in Room 323, around 9 p.m.," Aswin said.
During the arrest, Densus 88 received help from the Central Kalimantan Police's Mobile Brigade Corps.
Aswin did not say what terror acts MS is suspected to have been involved in. The Densus 88 is still developing its investigations of the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah terrorist group.
Meanwhile, according to the Indonesian Police's PR Department, three suspected terrorists were involved in last night's arrest in Central Kalimantan. But so far their identities remain unknown.
