PDIP Says Anies Baswedan Yet to Finish Strategic Programs

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle or PDIP faction at Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) criticized the performance of Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan during his four years in office.

According to PDIP, many strategic programs pledged by Anies were not running well ahead of the end of his office term.

“For example, the river normalization program, the zero down payment housing program, and OK-OCE (One District One Entrepreneurship) program. The three programs are stuck this year,” said the PDIP faction head Gembong Warsono in the PDIP Faction Year-End Report at the Creative Hall of MBLOC Space, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Tuesday, December 21.

Gembong explained that until the end of 2021, the Jakarta provincial government did not launch the river normalization program at all, which could bring a major impact on flood prevention in the capital.

“Instead, [the city government carries out] the infiltration well program which costs up to Rp411 billion in 2021. Its construction project does not even pay attention to technical aspects so that it damages public facilities at the site,” he added.

“We think that this year, Bapak Governor (Anies Baswedan) loses focus on homework that we have conveyed last year and rather chooses to focus on non-substantial programs such as Formula E,” Gembong said.
