Dairy Giant Yili Group Set to Expand with Local MSMEs

TEMPO.CO, JakartaChinese dairy giant Yili Group during the first phase of the Yili Indonesia Dairy production base in West Java will commit to creating more employment and pursue on partnering with more Indonesian MSMEs

Yili’s 8 hectare factory inaugurated on December 10 sits over 17 hectares of land with an investment value of Rp2.5 trillion will become the production base for their popular product Joyday.

Yili Indonesia Dairy president director Yu Miao in a press statement said it has always planned to ‘grow together with local partners and mentioned its commitment to grow its partnership with local MSMEs. The company expects the first phase will create jobs for roughly 5,000 workers, directly and indirectly. 

Yili Group realizes this intention by engaging in cooperation agreements with local MSMEs which are facilitated directly by the Ministry of Investment or the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM). Local MSMEs are targeted to supply raw materials & supporting facilities for the operations of its dairy factory, and are expected to be able to contribute to improving the Indonesian economy.

The Minister of Investment and Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia supervised the signing of the Partnership Cooperation Agreement between 89 PMA/PMDN companies, including the Yili Group, with 382 MSME entities. Bahlil Lahadalia expressed his appreciation to domestic and foreign investment companies for signing their cooperation with MSMEs.
