TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian national police (Polri) spokesperson Dedi Prasetyo explained the reason why the institution decided to induct 44 former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) members as police state apparatus personnel amid the world anti-corruption day.

He said this aligns with the orders from the national police chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who intends to quickly accommodate the former KPK employees, Antaranews reported.

“It is actually because of the commitment of the national police chief to accommodate and inaugurate the former KPK members as soon as possible, which coincides with the anti-corruption day,” said the spokesperson on December 9.

The 44 people previously did not pass the controversial civic knowledge test (TWK). Their oath as policemen and policewomen will be taken at the South Jakarta Polri main headquarters.

They will undergo police education at the institution’s facility located in Bandung.
