TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Health Ministry has sent 334,620 doses of Pfizer vaccine to seven provinces. The vaccine doses had just arrived in Indonesia on Sunday, November 28.
The ministry's spokesperson for vaccination, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, said the Pfizer doses were sent to the health offices of South Sulawesi, West Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, North Sulawesi, and are expected to arrive tomorrow, November 30. The doses sent to South Sumatra's Health Office are expected to arrive today, November 29.
"The gradual, continuous and continuous arrival of vaccines is needed to maintain the stability of Indonesia's vaccine stock," said Nadia in her statement, Monday, November 29.
Nadia said the government is focused on giving two doses of vaccines to the targeted population of 208 million by expanding and expediting vaccine rollouts in all provinces.
She asked the public not to hesitate getting vaccinated and not to be picky about brands.
"The best vaccine is the one available, especially now that a new variant of Covid-19 has been announced, which is more contagious and can trick our immune system," she said.
