Indonesia's Veteran Music Observer Bens Leo Dies of Covid-19

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's music observer Benedict Benny Hadi Utomo has died from Covid-19 on Monday morning, 29 November 2021. Known as Bens Leo, the industry veteran passed away while undergoing treatment at Fatmawati Hospital. He was 69 years old.

The family announced Bens Leo's passing through the Twitter account of Olga Lydia.

In the post, the family asked people not to follow the burial procession to the cemetery for the "privacy of the immediate family members and to comply with the Covid 19 health protocol."

News that Bens Leo's passing was due to Covid-19 was delivered by Nini Sunny through her Twitter account. Nini had written a book with Bens Leo.

Her post said that Bens Leo was submitted to Fatmawati Hospital since Thursday, the second week of November. His wife and child were also infected, but only Ben's conditions worsened.
