TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan on Thursday said that he hopes the Formula E event in 2022 could help Indonesia send a message to the world that the country will rise and is ready to equal other countries.
"Indonesia is ready to be part of the global world and we are on par with other countries," said Baswedan in a video sent by city-owned developer Jakpro on November 25.
Previously reported, the governor met with members of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) and Formula E Operation (FEO) Alberto Longo upon discussing the upcoming event scheduled to be held on June 4, 2022.
He said the event is completely overseen by the IMI, which is led by Bambang Soesatyo who has been appointed to lead the Formula E steering committee with IMI secretary general Ahmad Sahroni leading the organizing committee. Jakpro will be responsible for overseeing the race’s operations.
