TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Central Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit commissioner Indrawienny Panjiyoga on Monday announced one police personnel identified as JM was injured after being run over by a drug case suspect on Sunday.

According to the commissioner, officer JM sustained a broken bone in the incident that happened at a toll road rest area in Cirebon, West Java, after the policeman tried to arrest the suspect. Police have confiscated 35-kilograms of crystal meth owned by the suspect.

“We are hunting down the two suspects,” said Panjiyoga on November 22, Antaranews reported.

According to an eyewitness at the location, Wibowo, there were six shots from the officer during the incident. “I heard six shots while I was at the office,” he said. He recalled seeing officer JM lying on the ground with a severe injury to his left leg.

“I immediately ran towards where the shots were fired and saw a man laying down on the ground. They said the person was a police officer who was giving chase to a drug suspect,” said the eyewitness.
