TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The World Superbike (WSBK) 2021 and MotoGP 2022 event that will be held in Mandalika Circuit, is expected to boost tourism in Mandalika. Tourists may visit various attractions and tourism destinations in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara during the time of the events.
"We've prepared integrated destinations, the preparation by the locals are marvelous and hopefully it will draw both local and foreign tourists," said Destination II Development Director of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Wawan Gunawan in an online conference on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.
Villages located in East, North and West of Lombok have a distinct feature to attract visitors and his the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will support them in welcoming tourists.
"Here is the chance to ensure the preparation for people to visit and enjoy," said Wawan. The Ministry is also taking steps to revitalize several destinations and outbound sites, especially in Mandalika. "We also support vaccinations here."
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, had previously urged the homestay program to be applied in all villages in order to fully support WSBK and MotoGP. Locals have to maximize the potential from the incoming tourists and obtain profits from those International Events.
