5.0 M Earthquake Jolts North Bengkulu

TEMPO.CO, Bengkulu - An earthquake measuring 5.0 magnitudes in the Richter scale jolted North Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province at around 10:30 a.m. local time, Wednesday, November 17.
The Bengkulu Regional Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) head of data and information unit, Anang Anwar, confirmed that the quake’s epicenter was detected at approximately 65 kilometers southwest of North Bengkulu Regency.
“The quake occurred at around 10:30 a.m. in North Bengkulu Regency, and there is no potential for a tsunami,” said Anang today.
Anang appealed to residents of North Bengkulu to remain vigilant of possible aftershocks. There is no report on casualties and damage following the earthquake yet.
