BMKG's Weather Forecast: Rain to Shower Jakarta Today Afternoon, Night

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that rain will shower Jakarta today afternoon until night. This morning, all the capital areas see cloudy weather.

“Be aware of the potential for moderate to heavy rain with lightning and strong winds in Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta, and South Jakarta during the day and night,” as quoted from the agency’s early weather warning on its official page, Monday, November 15.

In the afternoon, moderate-intensity rain is expected to pour West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and North Jakarta. The Thousand Islands or Pulau Seribu will have a light rain. South and East Jakarta, meanwhile, will see thunderstorms. 

At night, all areas of the capital city will be showered with light rain. The weather will turn cloudy in the early hours of Tuesday.

Rain will also batter Jakarta’s neighboring regions, viz. Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi (Bodebek). This afternoon, Bekasi City, Bekasi Regency, Depok City, and Bogor Regency are forecasted to get moderate-intensity rain, while Bogor City is expected to see light rain.

At night, light rain will fall throughout the Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi areas. The rain will continue until the early hours of Tuesday in Bekasi Regency, Bekasi City, and Depok City, while Bogor Regency and Bogor City will be cloudy

BMKG also asked residents of Bodebek to stay alert of potential rain with lightning and strong winds in the afternoon until night.
