TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government published a pocket guide to the implementation of the Electronic Information and Transactions or ITE Law. The book was the result of the law study team established by the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs.
“This is important because as I said in the foreword, law enforcement related to the ITE Law will no longer cause multiple interpretations among law enforcement officers,” said Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD on his personal Instagram, Thursday, November 11.
He added that the pocket-size book was expected to further ensure the sense of justice among the public and could be used while waiting for the revised law that had been included in the 2021 National Legislation Program (Prolegnas) priority list.
The 148-page book contains five chapters detailing the basic rules and articles of the law, including the guidelines for the implementation of the ITE Law No. 229 of 2021 based on the joint decree of the Communication and Information (Kominfo) Minister, Attorney General, and the National Police Chief.
