OJK Officially Revokes OVO's Business Permits

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has officially revoked PT OVO Finance Indonesia business permits in accordance with the Decision Letter of Commissioners Board of Financial Services Authority No. KEP-110/D.05/2021 on October 19, 2021.
In its site, OJK mentioned the revocation of PT OVO Finance business permits is applied since the predetermined date decision letter. It was mentioned in the letter that they no longer have OJK permits.
"With the revocation of their permits, they are prohibited to conduct activities in financing," from OJK's official statement signed by Im Dewi Astuti, Deputy Commissioner Supervision of IKNB.
It's mandatory for OVO to fulfill the rights and obligations according to laws. Among them are:
1. Fulfill the rights and obligations of debtor, creditor and/or the concerned party.
2. Provides information about fulfillments of rights and obligations to debtor, creditor and/or the concerned party.
3. Provide information center and customer service.
Furthermore, in accordance with OJK Regulation Act. 11 No. 47/POJK.05/2020 regarding Business Permits, Finance Company and Syariah Finance, companies whose permit is revoked is banned from using finance or any other financial-related words in their name.
