Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah, Tripartite Becomes the Key to Business Sustainability in the Pandemic Period.

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Taiwanese government will once again open migrant worker placement for Indonesian workers after suspending it in December 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The reopening will start on Thursday, November 11.

The Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah in a statement today said Taiwan’s Director General, Workforce Development Agency, Ministry of Labor Tsai Meng-liang pledged to “supervise the implementation of preventive work by the Indonesian Migrant Worker Placement Companies.”

Taiwan authorities have also reportedly set up a special program for migrant workers placement that has been proposed to the National Health Command Center (NHCC), which will need collaboration between the two countries.

“Indonesia has become the first partner invited to the discussion that will discuss preparations on migrant workers’ placement in Taiwan,” Minister Ida said.

The first step prepared by the Indonesian government is by preparing the workers placement for 1,700 applicants with 850 in the formal sector while the other half will be placed in the domestic sector.
