Banten Education Service Probes Leak of Teachers Personal Data

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Education and Cultural Service of Banten is now handling the case of leaked personal data that belongs to hundreds of teachers.
Head of the Banten Education and Culture Office Branch for the Tangerang Regency, Mohamad Bayuni said that as of Monday morning they were still collecting data on the leak.
"Two highschools have asked about the leak and we are still collecting the data," Bayuni told Tempo this morning.
Bayuni said that based on information that Tangerang Regency received from the Banten Provincial Education Office, there were 883 data of high school teachers in Tangerang Regency that were leaked. "We are still waiting for reports from teachers who felt that their data has been leaked," said Bayuni.
According to him, around 690 and 5,473 teachers are listed as civil servants and non civil servants respectively from hundreds of high/vocational schools, be it public or private in Tangerang.
This case is currently being handled by the Banten Education Service. "The Service has taken legal action to report this to Banten Police."
