TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The central government has officially lowered the status of the public activity restriction (PPKM) imposed on Jakarta from Level 2 to Level 1 starting from November 2 and will last until November 15.

The Home Affairs Ministry’s Instruction No.57/2021 mentions the loosened restrictions include relaxing the operational hours of malls and restaurants, which was previously mandated to close at 9PM but is now permitted to open until 10PM.

The instructions stated the aforementioned locations are permitted to open until 10PM under strict health protocols.

However, there will be no extended operational hours for restaurants or cafes that only start to open in the evening, take example of a ‘bar and resto’ establishment that starts opening at 6PM and closes at 12AM, these types of business are still limited to 10 PM under 75 percent capacity.

Under the PPKM Level 1 rule, malls are permitted to accommodate 100 percent of their total capacity but under strict health protocols and must already be vaccinated.
