TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Agency for the Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysics (BMKG) issued an early weather warning, including flood, for Jakarta today.

"Beware of the potential for heavy rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds in Central, West, East and Southern parts of Jakarta in the afternoon," wrote BMKG on its official website on Thursday, October 28, 2021.

The BMKG also warns the citizens of a potential flood in South, East, West and Central Jakarta in the afternoon. In the morning, weather is predicted to be cloudy all over Jakarta, except for mild rain in Seribu Islands.

Today's average temperature in Jakarta is 24 to 32 degrees of celsius with an 80 to 100 percent humidity. The BMKG also issued a warning for Bogor, Depok and Bekasi.

"Potential of rain with thunder and strong winds in the afternoon until night in Bogor, Depok and Bekasi," wrote BMKG.

Yesterday, it rained in Jakarta from afternoon to night. Several areas were flooded, such as Cawang Toll Tunnel and DI. Panjaitan street in East Jakarta. The height of the flood reached 15 to 20 centimetres and submerged the road.

Despite all of that, Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria mentioned that there are no floods in Jakarta. "Thank God even though it rains, there are no floods based on the flood monitors," said Riza Patria at the City Hall, Central Jakarta on Wednesday Night, October 27, 2021.
