TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Minister of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) Johnny G. Plate on Tuesday announced that his team discovered a number of field implementation violations regarding the use of Covid-19 tracing app PeduliLindungi.
The minister said most of the violations were found in tourism sites and restaurants while a number of nightclubs and bars were found to operate without proper health protocol implementation.
“Our field observations found that only one person or a representative of a group were required to scan their [PeduliLindungi] QR code,” the Minister wrote in a statement on Tuesday, October 26.
Despite being introduced as a means to prevent a further spread of Covid-19, other public spaces such as toll road rest areas failed to require visitors to scan their app code.
The Kominfo Minister asserts that the government will crack down on public spaces committing these violations to ensure that a third wave of Covid-19 will not happen in the near future.
