Jakarta's COVID-19 Positivity Rate Drops to 0.4% Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Health Agency reported there were only 37 new COVID-19 infections detected today, October 26. The agency’s head of disease prevention and control Dwi Oktavia said the figure was obtained from the results of PCR tests on 19,306 specimens.
The number of active cases in the capital city also decreased by 137. “So, there are 916 people who are still receiving treatment or in isolation,” said Dwi in a written statement, Tuesday, October 26.
Throughout the past week, the agency recorded the capital’s positivity rate at 0.4 percent, down by 0.1 percent compared to yesterday’s figure of 0.5 percent.
Dwi confirmed that the virus positivity rate has already been below the standard set by World Health Organization (WHO) at less than five percent.
Since the onset of the pandemic in March 2020, Jakarta has found 860,999 positive cases. Of which, 846,525 patients have recovered and 13,558 patients succumbed to the illness. The city’s recovery rate by far was 98.3 percent, while the mortality rate at 1.6 percent.
