Jakarta Logs 82 New Covid-19 Infections; Active Cases Down by 86

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta continues to see improving situations amid the pandemic. On Monday, October 25, the capital only added 82 new cases of Covid-19.

According to Jakarta's Health Office director for disease prevention and control, Dwi Oktavia, the number was obtained from the result of PCR tests on 22,236 specimens.

Dwi added that Monday also saw the number of active cases declining by 86. This brings the number of patients in treatment and isolation to 1,053 people.

Jakarta's Covid-19 positivity rate in the past week has fallen to 0.5 percent, "while the rate of positive cases in total is 12.7 percent," Swi said yesterday.

The World Health Organization's (WHO) set the standard positibity rate at less than five percent.  

To date, Jakarta has logged a total caseload of 860,962 with 846,352 recoveries and 13,557 deaths. The capital government recorded 98.3 percent recovery rate and 1.6 percent mortality rate.
