Indonesian Band Voice of Baceprot to Perform at Wacken Open Air 2022

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An Indonesian rock band, Voice of Baceprot or VoB, is invited to the international heavy-metal music festival Wacken Open Air next year in Germany. The all-female members rock band from Garut, West Java, consists of Firdda Marsya Kurnia, Euis Sitti Aisyah, and Widi Rahmawati.
Marsya (guitarist and vocalist), Widi (basist), and Sitti (drummer) never expected that they would be invited to perform at the 2022 Wacken Open Air. The management received the invitation through an email. "It asked if we were able to perform," Marsya told Tempo in an interview on August 5, 2021.
VoB is preparing to perform at the big heavy-metal music festival. They will perform on the same stage with dozens of famous metal bands from around the world, such as Judas Priest, Limp Bizkit, and Slipknot.
Marsya said that it was one of their dreamlist to perform in such a huge stage like the Wacken Open Air. They even took some time to think about announcing the good news to social media. "We were still shocked. So we were reluctant to repost [the news] on social media. But after a lot of mentions and reposts, we eventually uploaded the post too," she recalled.
Besides the Voice of Baceprot, other Indonesian bands that had performed in the Wacken Open Air were Burgerkill, Jasad, and Taring. The Wacken Open Air is scheduled to be held on Agustus 4-6, 2022 in Wacken, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. For rock music enthusiasts, Wacken Open Air is a sacred moment, a grand event for metal music.
