TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Regional owned developer company Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) welcomed the visit of the city's regional legislative council (DPRD) at the ongoing construction site of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS). Jakpro implied that this new stadium will likely host a live BTS concert.
Jakpro president director Widi Amanasto said on Friday, October 22, 2021, that the stadium - which was initiated by the Jakarta Governor - will be equipped with a high-tech audio system enabling the venue to host major events.
"The sound system utilizes echo so if later on there will be BTS, in which plan for a performance from BTS will likely happen next year, it will use the exceptional sound system," said Widi, as reported by Antaranews.
He further claimed that the upcoming soundsystem installed in JIS will be better compared to the ones installed at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) stadium.
"The roof will be closed to improve the sound. It will be different from the one at GBK," he added.
Moreover, Widi claimed that Jakpro has opened early communications with the South Korean band's management, which he said received positive feedback. "Early communication has been established and they initially have spare time in certain months next year," said the Jakpro president.
The construction of the Jakarta International Stadium is currently ongoing and is currently 76 percent complete. The city has set December 10, 2021, as the soft launching date before the actual grand launching in March 2022.
Apart from planning to host a BTS concert, the stadium will also host the International Youth Championship 2021, and mark the stadium's debut in the regional football calendar.
