TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe COVID-19 Task Force spokesman Wiku Adisasmito said air passengers for all Java-Bali areas must bring two documents, including a vaccination certificate of at least the first dose. “And a negative result of an RT-PCR test taken within 2x24 hours before departure,” said Wiku at a press conference on Thursday, October 21.

The task force had issued the latest requirements for domestic travel via Circular No. 21 of 2021. The mandatory PCR test is also noted in the Home Affairs Ministerial Instruction No. 53 and 54 of 2021 and the latest circular of the Transportation Ministry.

People traveling to regions under PPKM Level 3 and 4 outside Java and Bali are also required to present the vaccination certificate of at least one dose and negative result of PCR test undergone in less than 2x24 hours.

As for destinations outside Java-Bali PPKM levels 1 and 2 areas, air passengers are required to show only one document, “a negative result of RT PCR test taken within a maximum period of 2x24 hours or rapid antigen test taken 1x24 hours before departure,” Wiku explained.

The Transportation Ministry spokesperson Adita Irawati said the travel requirements for air passengers are noted in the Ministerial Circular No. 88 of 2021, which was effective on October 24, at 12 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

“So airlines and air transportation operators have time to prepare and provide sufficient dissemination to prospective passengers,” said Adita.
