TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former investigators of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Novel Baswedan and Rizka Anungnata, reported Lili Pintauli Siregar to the KPK Supervisory Council for allegedly violating the code of ethics as she made communication with the regional head election contestant of North Labuhanbatu Regency, Darno.
“Other than being involved in managing the Tanjungbalai case, LPS (Lili Pintauli Siregar) is also involved in several other cases related to the North Labuhanbatu which we were handling as investigators,” Novel and Rizka said in their letter on Thursday, October 21.
Darno allegedly asked Lili Pintauli to speed up the detention of Labura Regent Khairuddin Syah, who at that time had been named a suspect by the KPK. Khairuddin, in his statement, admitted that he had the evidence of a meeting between Lili and Darno.
In the previous ethics meetings of the Supervisory Council, the complainant was asked to complete the evidence relating to Lili's alleged violation in the Labura case. The witness had submitted several supporting pieces of evidence to the Council Secretariat and had received a receipt on August 12, 2021.
However, in the Council’s Decision letter No. 5/Dewas/Etik/07/2021 dated August 30, 2021, the complainant observed there was no examination of clarification or an ethical trial on Lili in the Labura case. Thus, they submitted this complaint to the Supervisory Council.
“We entrust the KPK Supervisory Council for the next processes for the sake of the continuity and sustainability of the Corruption Eradication Commission, the organizational integrity, and the Corruption Eradication Movement,” said Novel Baswedan.
