TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An official statement made by the United States embassy in Jakarta on Monday, October 18, 2021, reported that the United States National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met with Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Pandjaitan in Washington D.C.
Jake Sullivan underlined the importance the Biden-Harris Administration places regarding the bilateral relationship with Indonesia, engagement throughout Southeast Asia, and US efforts to promote a free and open Indo-Pacific.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed a wide range of issues, such as efforts to address the climate crisis, the situation in Burma, and the collective effort to end the pandemic and strengthen global health security to prevent future health emergencies.
The United States National Security Advisor reiterated that the US government will continue high-level engagement and cooperation with Indonesia and the region in support of a prosperous and stable Southeast Asia.
