Sri Mulyani Addresses Climate Change And Effects On Funding

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said deep strategic financial and technological thinking is needed to combat climate change. She asserted that the two strategies must be applied as tackling climate change will present severe consequences towards funding.
"This needs strategy from the financial and technological side of things and the challenges are very real," said Sri Mulyani during in the 2021 Transformation Festival on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, as reported by Antaranews.
The Minister also mentioned the great changes caused by climate change towards the future of society, mainly the millennial generation, and the need to create policy designs that can change people's economic activities.
"Albeit in investments, consumption with more considerations toward environmental protection, and preventing the climate change from worsening," said the Finance Minister who also insists that the larger society would need to face the issue through green economy transformation and the preservation of forests and the ocean.
